FRANKLIN, Massachusetts (WPRI) – Prom is a distant memory for some, but it has only just happened to others.

Magnolia Heights Gracious Retirement Living in Franklin held a prom for residents Wednesday afternoon.

“I didn’t go to prom, I never got my degree. I had to leave school when I was 16, so I’m really enjoying it, ”said resident Laura Tavares.

The prom was the first major event for the 130 residents of the senior community since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

“When I have an event here, I get goose bumps. It’s very meaningful. For us, the staff and for the residents, ”said Carolyn Pereira, the facility’s sales and marketing director.
