TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT / KSVT) – Volunteers with AARP provide tax assistance and preparatory services to seniors and low-income taxpayers.

The Tax Aid Program has fewer locations this year where people can get help due to a drop in volunteers.

The website at the Magic Valley Mall does slightly different things too, allowing you to come in and drop off your information so someone can prepare your return.

Many of the volunteers are happy to be back after quitting early last year due to COVID.

“Unfortunately, we had to resign last year on March 15th on instructions from the AARP,” said Jim Simpson, Tax Aide Coordinator for the AARP district. “And so the people who work were very keen to get it going.”

The Tax Advisory Center is open 6 days a week from 11 a.m. to 4 a.m. You can call 208-490-7610 or 208-421-5007 to schedule your appointment.
